Associate Attorney, Mario Perez Appointed Vice-President of Laredo Webb County Bar Association

Congratulations on your new role as Vice-President for the Laredo Bar Association! What inspired you to take on this leadership position?

Thank you! I was inspired to take on this leadership position by my passion for fostering professional growth and collaboration within our local legal community. The desire to make a positive impact on my community has always driven my professional career, and this role provides a platform to support my colleagues, promote ethical practices, and contribute to the development of our profession in Laredo and the surrounding areas.

Can you share a bit about your journey and experiences that led to this appointment as Vice-President? What aspects of your career do you think have prepared you most for this role?

My journey to this appointment stems from our firm’s [JCA Law, PLLC] reputation of service to the community, as well as my own practice of working collaboratively and amicably with other attorneys,  even in contentious litigation. This approach has allowed me to build solid relationships and a reputation within the legal community, which ultimately led to this opportunity. These experiences in fostering cooperation and maintaining professionalism have been invaluable, equipping me with the skills necessary to excel as Vice-President and effectively support the Laredo Bar Association.

How do you plan to engage and support the members of the Laredo Bar Association in your new role?

I plan to engage and support the members by maintaining open lines of communication and actively seeking their input on how the association can better serve their needs. I will also work to enhance the association’s online presence and digital resources, making it easier for members to access information and connect with each other. Furthermore, I intend to collaborate with local firms, businesses, and community organizations to create more opportunities for our members.

How do you envision your role as Vice-President contributing to the professional development of the association’s members?

As Vice-President, I envision contributing to the professional development of our members by raising awareness of the Laredo Bar Association in the local community and throughout the state. By increasing the visibility of our association, we can attract more resources, opportunities, and collaborations that benefit our members, as well as to help highlight our community.
